YIN SOUND HEALING | Helsinki

  • Helsingin Astangajoogakoulu 29 Annankatu Helsinki, Uusimaa, 00100 Finland (kartta)

Welcome to take part in this special event where Sound Healing Concert meets Yin Yoga!

The combination of gentle yin and deeply relaxing sound healing will help you to slow down and soften towards yourself to receive the wisdom of your heart.

In this unique experience you will be guided through a slow, spacious yin practice while being held and supported by sound. The invitation is to press pause on the busyness of life, turn inwards and surrender towards yourself. Surrender into simply being, feel into the sensations of the now, practice active listening, and let your body and mind rest in stillness and the healing frequencies of sound.

What is Sound Healing?

Sound Healing is all about tuning in, harmonizing and deeply relaxing. Allowing the fullness of resonance, releasing tension and stacked emotions. The symphonic waves of vibrations calm the mind and relax the body.

In Sound Healing Concert, you lie down or sit comfortably and let the transforming and deeply-relaxing vibrations of crystal bowls, gongs, drum, didgeridoo, flute and singing flush your body, mind and soul. The instrumental overtones make the body's trillions of cells play harmoniously, thus releasing energy blockages and opening up the meridians. At a deeper level, the harmonic sounds produced by the instruments influence the level of consciousness by slowing down the brain rhythms to the alpha and theta frequencies, which activates the healing energies of the body. Sound Healing is different every time.

What is Yin Yoga?

Yin yoga is perhaps the most gentle form of yoga. It is a slow-paced and very stillness-orientated practice where the poses are held for an extended period of time - from 3 up to 10 minutes. Conscious breathing and different breathwork practices are often included in the practice.

The nature of yin practice is stress-relieving and restorative - the slowness and stillness helps the practitioner drop into the parasympathetic nervous system, the ever-so-vital state of rest & digest. On a physical level, yin yoga targets the deeper tissues of the body, affecting the fascia (connective tissue) rather than the muscles. It is a beautiful practice for releasing tension and creating space in the body, mind and deeper layers of our being.
